It All Starts With A Need
The seeds for Pulse Fitness were planted in 1983, when a gym owner in Winnipeg was looking for someone to design and build a new piece of strength equipment. Helmut Kroeker, an inventor and entrepreneur took up the challenge and quickly realized there was money to be made in manufacturing. Soon after, Pulse Fitness was born.
Manufacturing out of Winnipeg Manitoba, Pulse Fitness quickly earned a solid reputation for making top quality strength equipment at good value and became the product of choice for many fitness facilities across North America. In addition to the manufacturing and distribution of their own strength equipment, Pulse added name-brand cardiovascular equipment to become a full service provider to universities, fitness clubs, high schools, police and fire departments, corporate fitness rooms, hotels among others.
Most large fitness equipment manufacturers now make their products off-shore in a bid to stay competitive. Being a relatively small player in industry, this off-shore trend moved Pulse to recently streamline its manufacturing processes and reduce lines to products that could be manufactured locally and be offered at competitive prices.
As of 2012 Pulse strength equipment is manufactured by others and is called Nortec Fitness. Pulse, no longer manufacturing, is able to focus on providing professional fitness equipment solutions to help their customers succeed. Specifically, Pulse offers facility design services, business consultation, delivery, installation, leasing options and warranty repair services for the fitness equipment they supply. Customers working with Pulse will benefit through the procurement of quality commercial fitness products manufactured by industry giants such as Star Trac, Matrix, Atlantis, York, SciFit, Umax, Dinoflex and yes; Nortec too.
